Thursday, December 31, 2009 Finally turned 21 yesterday but freedom is still subjective in my family -.- The family had steamboat dinner in lieu of my bdae and we had strawberry cake coz my mummy knows me well :) My aunt's family came by too for a while, and she gave me a dress. My elder sis gave me moneyyyyyy woohoo. Mummy, Ayah and my younger sisters said they wanna take a rain check and give me something when the pay comes in HEHEEEH. And then my sisters and I went to Metro's Expo Sale with my aunt's family since they were driving. Me gotssss a pair of brown Crocs ballet flats, white slippers, a white spag top and delicious underwear in shocking blue, red and yellow for bf. HAHA. I want to see his face when I give them to him. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAA OMG. And then my uncle treated us to ice cream before sending us home. The Metro sale had some cosmetics - I saw ELF, YSL and Three Beauties amongst others... Lots of fragrances as well, bags, lingerie, clothes, kitchen appliances...u get the picture. Don't know why, but I was more inclined to shoes that day. Thank you to those who wished me well yesterday and today, you know who u are *winks* Todayy, met up with someone I havnt seen for a lonnnggg time and I've missed unknowingly. ![]() This minah here - Nur Diyanah Lubis; ex-poly biatch >.< I know it seems like we're wearing the same shirt but we're not ok. Shes sleeping over at her cousin's house so we met up at Yew Tee to have lunch. Hungry Jack's at Koufu. I still can't get over the fact that my steak tastes of the smell of cows. Hope I'm making sense. But their mushroom soup, baked potato and mashes potatoes are yummy. Oh! And I went to Watson's to get a Loreal true-match concealer coz I wanted to finish off all my Watson's vouchers HEHEH. I have it on right now to cover my undereye circles. Seems ok abit runny though. Bf is currently doing duty at Marina's countdown. Hope he's not being naughtyyy. Anywayyyyy, advanced Happy New Year everybody!! Hi 2010~

Monday, December 28, 2009 And something came in the mail yesterdayyyy! Wheee~! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() pictured: SS150, 187, 168, 190, 194, 224, 219, 239 - Naughty in Black Travel Set. SOOOOO CUTE with the stubby handles HAHA. ![]() ![]() Ordered on the 18th, shipped on the 18th, received on 26th morning I think. Coz I only checked the mail yesterday which was a Sunday and they don't deliver mail on Sundays right? And they included a free gift for me! An eyeshadow in Indian Girl - a frosty purple colour. Does Sigma do this everytime, or only because I ordered it so close to Christmas? But who's complaining, Thank You Sigma! Some people think Sigma are copycats of MAC, and yes I agree with that, what with the same numbering for their brushes. It takes effort and creativity to create wonderful brushes, but it takes art to duplicate them. And they are cheaper, which is a good thing for those who can't afford MAC brushes. Makeup application is an art, your face is the canvas. Perfection may be achieved with the right set of tools and though sometimes you can't afford high-end brushes, that doesn't mean you have to settle looking your second-best. Sigma captures this need and I applaud them for it. Anyway....Thursday was the outing with bf. Wanted to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, but it was sold out! Right til 1:40am could you believe it?? Mann.....so we postponed Alvin til later on in the month, and watched Princess and The Frog instead. Lol I loved the movie, it's right up there with the other Disney Princess movies that brings you back to your childhood. Pair a good movie with some sweet popcorn, fried chicken balls, a corn dog and iced lemon tea with a 'life-sized teddy bear" to cuddle with - it doesn't get any better than that :) Then we got finger food for lunch and ate at some park at YCK. ![]() Can you see my layers? Dang, I got only one picture to test out the camera on the new phone. Ohwell.

Sunday, December 27, 2009 ![]() see the crowd??? It's crazy!! Excuse any pictures that showcases my family and my ultimate selenger-ness. HAHA. There are more pictures actually, but I'm lazy to upload all and try to organise them here. -.- And I'm glad Sezairi won Singapore Idol. I initially wanted Sylvia to win coz she has really good vocals and I think she's so much prettier than Tabitha. But my vote went to the person who performed the best yesterday and it was Sezairi...especially loved his rendition of "Touched By An Angel" whilst Sylvia's was very screechy to me...her Mercy performance was awesome though :) Labels: travels

Wednesday, December 23, 2009 ![]() Pictured is a grey Nokia E71. Teachers get a $400 (more if you are a seasoned teacher $750 i think) LDS Claim (Learning & Development Scheme) every year which they can spend on items that will assist in their professional development etc. Items range from PDAs, Laptops, Cameras, Recorders, Smartphones... But you will have to explain if needed, the function of the item you bought that structures to LDS before it gets approved. IPhones were approved previously in my school, and my sister had friends getting Ipod Touch(s). Before it was capped yesterday, I went out to Lot1 and got the E71 in black. Would you believe it, I was in the market for a smartphone after my LG Viewty decided to be a bitch, and having heard of the LDS Claim made me tippy! Not only can I get my phone, but I can claim part of the purchase back so literally, I got a brand new phone without contract for 1/5 of the price. Am loving it so far, especially love the sleek design and the qwerty keypad. And have I mentioned how good it is as an organiser?! *lovelove* I stored my Nokia 3120 classic phone in a drawer and sold my uugghh white LG Viewty for $70 at Lot1. Kinda low, but I wasn't using it anyway and it had scratches and the camera hangs quite a bit. So I'm pretty happy.. Life has been treating me good so far. Alhamdulilah....

Tuesday, December 22, 2009 Pigs can fly. Mountains can move. I just saw an erected table at the PASAR in front of my house selling fake MAC products. No testing allowed. A blush for $12. Since when did the PASAR get so hip and groovy? HAHAHA. My opinion on fake MACs....well it's cheaper yes, almost half the price of the original. Colour payoff that their eyeshadows and blushes give are quite good. Quality-wise like how fine their pigments are or the packaging that they come in, are of course of lesser quality than the original. I happen to own one fake MAC product, a reddish blush that I got from Johor. But that's it and it didn't break me out! Personally though, I wouldn't go near fake foundations coz these are stuff that goes into the pores of your skin...Blushes and eyeshadows are just swipes of colour on top of foundation, but foundation itself is a base. So it's a big No-No for me. But I strongly believe in this: I have 1 skin that I live in and taking care of it is pretty easy actually. Why subject it to fake cosmetics/skincare that would put it at risk? If I don't have the money for high-end products, then make do with drugstore ones that are certified and safe, but save up for a splurge every now and then for originals. You wouldn't want to be seen touching up in the public washroom with a fake MAC. There are sooo many drugstore brands that are on par or not better than high-end names. You could never go wrong with Revlon, Maybelline and Loreal. And maybe with a debit card, go get NYX! I wouldn't get NYX from the Guardians in Singapore, the displays never did look appealing to me -.- Anyway...how fast time flies, it's nearly the end of the holidays!! And then it'd be back to school for me... Dunno what lies ahead, it's both scary and exciting right now. Hopefully the class I'm taking won't give me too much trouble insyallah. Darn, I'm bored and broke. No one wants to entertain me. And D, make Thursday come faster pretty please? And oh yea, I got a haircut two days ago. Just layers, nothing too fancy. I think I look like a tomboy trying to look feminine now HAHA. Will take pictures on Thursday maybe.

Monday, December 21, 2009 Now that I have my own little "vanity desk" in my new bedroom layout, I went to IMM with my little sister to get a small drawer to organise my small makeup collection. Before that, we dropped by Lot1's atrium because I received an email newsletter that ELF was having a sale today til the 27th. Of course, I ended up with some stuff....but boo-hoo they didn't have the eyeshadow brush and the flat top buffer I was lemming for :( Got the eyelash curler, face kabuki, bronzing powder in Luminance, color sticks in Light (for undereye circles) and Persimmon (not pigmented so can't use it as a blush. But it gives off a shimmery sheen.) Each at $6, except kabuki. (u.p. $6.90 not much of a sale but whaddeheck)After grabbing a bite from KFC, off to IMM. I found my little organiser in Giant for $8+. Then went to Daiso to walk around. Seriously, I can't go window shopping! I'll end up with shopping bags that I wasn't even intending on getting! I'm so disappointed in myself -.- Wet tissue in a bottle that doesnt work properly hrrmph, teeny nail clippers - one for my makeup bag, one for my vanity, oil blotting paper, an ankle tape for D for his soccer games coz he couldn't find one when we went Vivo the other day and the pink basket everything is in just for my accessories.And..... Jasmine body mist and pink grapefruit body lotion from Body Shop just coz there's 15% off the whole receipt.Don't worry, no more purchases. Last item is a gift hurray! My sister just came back from her holiday in China and she got me something pretty. It's a handmade silk-covered compact mirror from a factory she went sight-seeing at...It's so prettieeeee! Stitches of flowers front and back at the fore, red chinese emblems sort of opaque in the background. Seems 3-dimensional really. And have I mentioned it's hot pink? Wooooo~! The picture obviously shows how bad my phone camera is and it's not showing the true colour. Dawnie is one happy girl :)

Friday, December 18, 2009 Heylo!! I'm on a sugar rush right now minus the sugar. Coz thats what shopping does to you! Yes, I went shopping again so sue me. -.- Today was "Sister's Day" by the way. At 11 we left home for my youngest sis' (Anis) school to get her books for next year. Turns out, most of her textbooks were sold out so she could only get like 3 art supplies haha. Cabbed to Orchard Ion and went Sephora to get some stuff. And then to Wheelock Place for sushi lunch buffet and then took the MRT to IKEA Tampines. Got some other stuff to remake my bedroom. And then cabbed home coz D couldn't send us back at the last minute. Our stuff from IKEA. Got two new makeshift wardrobes to replace the bulky ones we have currently (pictured), a full-length mirror, a small side table, several baskets to stack as a display for my bear collection, hangers for the wardrobe and a table mirror. ![]() ![]() O.o reason for my sugar rush - Brush Cleanser, Viva La Juicy Perfume (this smells AWWWesome! Wanted to get Paris Hilton's but caved in and splurged on this instead. I couldn't get enough of the fruity girly scent! Paris Hilton's was a little too spicy for my taste), MSF Natural in Medium Dark (finally!). Am awaiting excitedly for my mail to come...*hinthint* :D But after everything arrives, I'm on a strict self-budget for the rest of this month and the next as well. A girl can only splurge *this* far.... |
